Use MPVI4 and our VCM Suite software package to read DTCs and diagnose check engine lights, view diagnostic and critical-emissions data, and read, edit, save, and write to various control modules in your vehicle. MPVI4 is the only diagnostic and calibration tool you need to dial in your performance and start setting new records, on and off the pavement.

Being able to Calibrate your 8 or 10-speed transmission in conjunction with a proper engine tune would result in the best possible numbers your car can produce. Since that can't happen, we also aren't recommending certain mods like Cams, converters, or Hi-Ram IM be installed. These mods require shift point adjustments to perform at their best and that has to be tuned in the TCM.

In Brett's opinion, the TCM needs to be tuned when you start adding any mods.  The TCM is going to limit what we can do with the ECM to properly tune the car. As soon as we start increasing power the TCM fights back. An un-tunable TCM also limits the tune he can do in the ECM. We can still mod your car, but you will need to understand that is an issue and it won't allow the power to be made. He said the transmission will eventually limit the power you can put to the ground and even possibly fail without being tuned properly.
